Columbia Scholar Award

For Incoming Freshmen and Incoming Transfer Students

The Columbia Scholar Award was established to recognize the achievement(s) of incoming freshman and incoming transfer students who have been admitted and completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

 The Columbia Scholar Award is open to:

  • High school seniors and transfer students entering for the first time in the Fall 2025 semester
  • Students who have earned academic achievement in high school and the college or university most recently attended
  • Students who have been admitted to Columbia for the Fall semester
  • Students who have completed the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Note: The Columbia Scholar Award is a need-based scholarship, but will also take academic merit into account when determining a student's award.

Award based on:
  • Financial need
  • Eligible students' academic merit will also be taken into account
Notification of the award:
  • Recipients will be notified through their Financial Aid Award Letter. We regret that we are unable to give information regarding the committee's decisions over the telephone or by email.
