Nancy W. and John D. McBride Memorial Fund

for continuing undergraduate and graduate students

The Nancy W. and John D. McBride Memorial Fund is designed to help in defraying course tuition, housing and fees, and other expenses of commuter students.

The Nancy W. and John D. McBride Memorial Fund is open to:

  • All applicants must be commuter students
  • Incoming commuter freshman who has earned a cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Incoming transfer students with a freshman or sophomore status who have earned a 2.0 or higher from their previous institution
  • Undergraduate students who have earned a 2.0 or higher
  • Continuing, full-time undergraduate students who will have completed no more than 59 credit hours by the end of the Spring 2024 semester
  • Graduate students who complete a minimum of 9 credit hours at Columbia by the end of Spring 2024
  • Graduate students who have earned a 3.0 or higher
  • Graduate students enrolled in a 0-credit thesis continuance course are not eligible to apply
  • Students who demonstrate financial need through a completed 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2024-25 FAFSA must be submitted by May 15, 2024 for Nancy W. and John D. McBride Memorial Fund consideration.

Scholarship based on:

  • Financial need
  • Commuter student

Scholarship amount:

  • Up to $8,333 for the Fall 2024 semester
