Norinsky Family Production Grant

for continuing undergraduate and graduate students

The Norinsky Family Production Grant (NFPG) awards undergraduate and graduate students in the Schools of Film and Television, Design, and Communications and Culture developing projects utilizing multiple narrative or expressive media art forms that explore media or new storytelling practices.

Deadline to Apply: November 30, 2024

 

The grant provides financial assistance supporting independent projects or class assignments that use media and technology in interesting and innovative ways. NFPG provides grants of up to $2,500 per application that can be used to offset expenses directly connected to the project. Projects are supervised under the guidance of a faculty production coordinator and must be in development at the time of the grant award.

While projects may be traditional in use of the tools of media arts, projects that explore new media to utilize these tools will be favored.

Examples of projects that explore new media could include an augmented reality tour of a historic neighborhood (AR/VR + journalism), a generative music video (audio/video) that responds to a video-captured motion, or other method of combining media disciplines.


 

The Norinsky Family Production Grant is open to:

  • Undergraduate and Graduate students in the Schools of Film and Television, Design, and Communications and Culture who are developing cross-disciplinary projects in the media arts.
  • Graduate students enrolled in a 0-credit hour thesis continuance course are not eligible to apply.
Award amount:
  • Award amounts up to $2,500 per application
