Biography
Buddy Fambro, a Chicago native, is a guitarist, producer, arranger and composer with three albums to his credit—the latest, Purpose, which charted on Billboard for 4 weeks. Buddy is active on the Chicago theatre seen, most recently with 2021 performances of Mama Mia (North Shore Center for Performing Arts), 2020 performances of Grease at the Lincolnshire Marriott Theatre, and 2019 performances of Lindiwe at the Steppenwolf Theatre and Next to Normal at The Writers Theatre. Buddy can be seen on PBS’s Great Performances—Chicago Voices Gala, backing Renee Fleming, Shamekia Copeland, John Prine and more. Smooth Jazz fans may have heard Buddy playing alongside artists like Gerald Albright, Eric Darius, Alex Bugnon, Euge Groove and Marion Meadows. If it’s to be soul or R&B, many top female artists: Ledisi, Maysa, Layla Hathaway and Heather Headley have chosen Buddy’s smooth vibes. Bringing it home, Buddy has both recorded and performed with Chicago greats: Ramsey Lewis, Urban Knights, The Staple Singers, The Dells, Otis Clay, and Nick Colionne. Buddy graduated from Berklee College of Music Magna Cum Laude, and is a lifelong student of music.
