Biography
David Gerding is an associate professor in Interactive Arts and Media at Columbia College Chicago and entrepreneur. He teaches media design/theory classes for game and UX development and also teaches advanced software development classes.
He is currently a principal at Wordbahn LLC, a tech startup developing patent-pending, next generation reading interfaces and knowledge platforms.
Professor Gerding served for 5 years as Principal Investigator of a series of federally funded cooperative agreements in the serious games and sensor fusion fields, a US Department of Defense funded ($4m) research project investigating the application of sensor fusion to small team dynamics and collaboration practices.
He is a certified McCarthy Technologies team and skills facilitator, certified Xamarin Professional app developer and, of course, an Agile ScrumMaster.
He has published in over twenty national and international technology, trade and consumer publications and spoken at academic conferences in the United States and Europe and co-authored a large programming textbook. His consulting clients over the years have included both consulting firms as well as small to mid-size enterprises and startups in a variety of markets.
