Biography

Diane Delin is an improvising and classical violinist with extensive experience performing all styles of music. She has performed and recorded a large cross section of folk, jazz, pop and country music. Delin was voted a Downbeat Critic’s Poll “Rising Star” four times for her jazz work. Her performances include leading her own jazz groups in concerts and festivals in the U.S. and Europe, playing as a section player for artists like Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Ray Charles, among many others; performing on the folk circuit; and winning a Nashville North Country Music Competition. As a recording artist, her work has reached #5 on the jazz charts; as a producer, her work has earned the coveted 5-Star Recognition from Downbeat Magazine. As a composer, she has been recognized in international press, and featured on live radio and television broadcasts in Europe and the US. Delin’s goal as an educator is to help students develop their own personal musical voice while differentiating resources and approaches to fit the student's needs and learning style. She has a Music Performance degree from Northwestern University and a Masters in Community Arts Management from University of Illinois.
