Biography
Lee Sanders (he/him/his) has worked in the entertainment industry for over a quarter-century, and maintains an active schedule as a composer in addition to his teaching duties.
He has won eight BMI Film & Television Awards for his work. His credits span dozens of television shows, films, video games and works for online media and theatre, among them the multiple Emmy® Award-winning CBS series The Amazing Race (US and international versions); the current Sony Pictures Home Entertainment logo theme; the award-winning feature films Old Stone and Shadow Wolves; and the children's web series Storyline Online for SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
As a conductor, orchestrator and additional composer, Lee has also contributed to shows such as Family Guy, Charmed, The Fairly Oddparents, and Disney’s House of Mouse.
Sanders has served as instructor at the UCLA Extension Film Scoring Program and at Occidental College. He has lectured or served as composer-in-residence at the USC School of Cinema-Television, Eastman School of Music, and Loyola Marymount University. In March 2023 he also appeared as a panelist for Grammy in the Schools Fest.
Lee holds memberships in the Television Academy and the Society of Composers & Lyricists, and has contributed music to organizations including Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Children's Miracle Network Telethon, and LA Regional Food Bank.
