Biography

Mike is an Adjunct Professor of Instruction at the School of Audio and Music.  Besides being a voice instructor for both contemporary (pop, jazz, rock, R&B, gospel) and musical theater students, he teaches ensembles that perform a versatile variety of 4 - 6 musical genres, every school year.  For over 3 decades, Mike Harvey has been an in-demand session singer in 2 major markets: Chicago and New York. Originally from northwest Indiana, Mike's talent has enabled him to travel to 5 continents.  He has toured with Grammy winning artist, Seal, lent his voice to Grammy winning projects (Luther Vandross & Steely Dan); sang on television shows (PBS, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Empire, 30 Rock, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt); sang in movies (Anastasia, Sparkle, The Love Guru); sang for countless tv & radio commercials, as well as independent projects.  After a 17 year stint in NYC, he has returned to Chicago, where he began his singing career.  He has been able to currently sing and arrange for producers worldwide via his home studio.  Besides singing for original projects, he also arranges, vocal coaches, and produces; For three semesters, he was on the artist faculty of Roosevelt University's Music Department, and has been a vocal coach for Roberta Duchak's Vocal Boot Camp America for 2 years.  He also is a foodie and loves to cook, when he can.  Mike attended Purdue University Northwest and Western Michigan University.
