Biography
Mikhail Fiksel is a Practioner-in-Residence in the Theater Department, teaching Sound Design, and mentoring student designers. He is a Tony Award-winning designer, composer, audio producer, and dj working in theatre, dance, film, immersive experiences and audio-forward media. His recent work includes multiple projects with Audible Originals, The Public Theatre, The Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, The Seldoms, The Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare, La Jolla Playhouse, The Fly Honey Show, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Albany Park Theatre Project and Make Believe Association, where he is Head of Audio. Other honors include 3 Lucille Lortel Awards, multiple Joseph Jefferson Awards and the 2020 Obie Award for Sound Design. He is a proud member of USA and TSDCA, and has a BA from University of Chicago.
