Biography
Xochil Herrera Scheer is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Fashion Studies Department at Columbia. She is a pattern maker and product developer who works primarily with small brands and entrepreneurs.
She is very passionate about ethical manufacturing, especially within the US, and is active within several industry trade organizations including The Apparel Industry Board of IL (AIBI), Fashion Group International (FGI), SEAMS Association, and Fashion Revolution. She has spoken on several panels and taught workshops related to technical design, patterns and fit, small-batch manufacturing.
Xochil has a BFA in Fashion Design from The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago (2006), and a Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship from DeVry University (2010).
