CTVA Student Wins First Place at 2021 Slamdance Screenplay Competition
Reese Taylor Givens’ film, IRL, was awarded first place in the category of Feature Film at the live-streamed ceremony on October 14.
Columbia College Chicago is proud to announce current CTVA student Reese Taylor Givens has taken home the first-place prize at the 2021 Slamdance Screenplay Competition.
Givens’ film, IRL, was awarded first place in the category of Feature Film at the live-streamed ceremony on October 14.
IRL tells the story of two girls from rural Kentucky who scam, cheat, steal, and lie their ways into becoming the biggest and brightest influencers in New York City.
More than 5,000 submissions were considered for this year’s awards and $16,000 was presented to the winners across all categories. Other winners in the screenplay, horror/thriller, TV pilot, and shorts film categories were recognized during the ceremony, which can be viewed here.
