Weller has said this book was inspired by Bradbury's The October Country as well as such television shows as Black Mirror and American Horror Story and it shows. The work, which is accompanied by artwork by Dan Grzeca, is unsettling and at times supernatural, though firmly grounded in the realities of modern living. Weller is a faculty member in the creative writing program at Columbia College Chicago.
