Kyle Heller ’08 changed the game for brands like Gap, Stella McCartney and Victoria’s Secret. How? He created an app that allows customers to purchase the merchandise they see in a video.
Fast Company magazine named his firm, Cinematique, one of the world’s most innovative companies. Heller, who studied film, credits Columbia College Chicago for pushing him to make mistakes—failures he learned not to repeat in the real world.
“Developing something completely new is exciting and extremely terrifying at the same time,” he says. “It’s like making a movie. You have your script, but the end movie never turns out the same as the script.”
