Columbia College Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Technology Join Forces to Offer Students Expanded Learning Opportunities
Columbia College Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Technology have come together to develop the Columbia College Chicago and Illinois Institute of Technology Course Exchange Program. In this program, eligible students in Columbia’s Cinema and Televisions Arts and Interactive Arts and Media departments can take for-credit courses at Illinois Tech in science, mathematics, engineering, technology, and computing. Likewise, Illinois Tech students will be able to explore Columbia’s expertise in the fields of media and the arts.
“Partnering with Illinois Tech makes sense given our complementary fields and participating students will absolutely benefit from this innovative agreement.” says Holly Herrera, associate provost for transfer initiatives and academic partnerships.
Participating Columbia students will be able to access the facilities and resources in the same manner as other non-degree seeking students enrolled at Illinois Tech. This includes access to Illinois Tech’s library and computer labs, as well as many student and cultural activities.
Herrera says that Illinois Tech’s unique approach to computer science and information technology will deepen Columbia students’ understanding of their programs of study and real-world applications.
