Al Parker Excellence in Radio Scholarship

For continuing undergraduate students

The Al Parker Excellence in Radio Scholarship was established to assist outstanding sophomore, junior, and senior Radio and Voiceover students in defraying tuition costs. This scholarship is awarded annually to students who have demonstrated considerable achievement in the department and have significant potential for future creative development in the broadcast arts.

Deadline to Apply: February 01, 2026


The Al Parker Scholarship is open to:

  • Full-time Radio majors, Radio minors, and Voiceover minors studying within the School of Communication, Culture, and Society
  • Students who will complete a minimum of 30 credit hours by the end of the Spring 2026 semester, with at least 12 credit hours completed at Columbia by the end of the Fall 2025 semester
  • Students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Students who demonstrate financial need through a completed 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2026-27 FAFSA must be submitted by February 1, 2026 for Al Parker Scholarship consideration.

 

Scholarship based on:
  • Academic merit
  • Financial need
Scholarship amount:
  • Up to $6,000 (awarded half in Fall and half in Spring)
Notification of the scholarship:
  • All applicants will be notified by email in April/May 2026.
