Arlen and Elaine Cohen Rubin Scholarship in the Arts

For Incoming Freshmen

The Arlen and Elaine Cohen Rubin Scholarship in the Arts was established to assist in defraying tuition costs for one high school senior who will graduate from the Chicago Academy of the Arts or the Chicago High School for the Arts, plans to enter Columbia College Chicago for the first time in Fall 2024, and intends to major in Musical Theatre or Acting.

The Arlen and Elaine Cohen Rubin Scholarship in the Arts is closed for consideration.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • High school seniors who will graduate from the Chicago Academy for the Arts or the Chicago High School for the Arts, and who plan to enter Columbia in the Fall semester
  • Students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
  • Students who have been admitted to Columbia 
  • Students able to submit samples of their creative work (a portfolio) that demonstrate strong accomplishment, talent, or ability in their intended area of study
  • Students who demonstrate financial need through a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Scholarship based on:
  • Demonstration of talent, ability, or accomplishment in the student's intended major
  • Financial need
Renewable scholarship amount:
  • Up to $10,000 per academic year, awarded to one student
