Paula Singer Epstein Library Scholarship

For continuing undergraduate students

The Paula Singer Epstein Library Scholarship was established to assist in defraying educational costs for students working for the Columbia College Chicago Library.

• How to Apply

  Only complete scholarship applications submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. Please follow all directions carefully and submit the following materials to make a complete application.

  How has working in the library played a role in the pursuit of your degree?

  Give specific examples of library resources (databases, print and media collections, equipment, etc.) or services (library chat, research assistance, programming, etc.) in your essay.

   

   

• About Scholarship Donor

  Paula Epstein was a reference and instruction librarian of the Columbia College Chicago Library. Paula provided library instruction to hundreds of Columbia students, and was a friend to everyone she met during her tenure at the college.

• Scholarship Terms
  • Application must be submitted by February 1, 2026 (11:59 pm) for review by the committee
  • Award amount is a $2,500 stipend, awarded half in Fall 2026 and half in Spring 2027
  • Award is applied towards the student’s educational costs
  • Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment during the 2026-27 academic year
  • The rules and regulations governing other sources of financial aid (federal, state, institutional and other grants, gifts, or loans) will apply
  • Columbia College Chicago reserves the right to withhold the award in any year in which, at the sole discretion of the scholarship committee, suitable candidates cannot be found among applicants
