What would you say has been the most surprising thing you learned at Columbia?
I was surprised to learn how much I could enjoy school and that I could actually learn to be confident and proud of myself.
What experiences or courses at Columbia do you feel have been most beneficial?
Finding so many like-minded friends and insightful professors, and my professors in Motion Graphics I and Graphic Design I who first encouraged me to pursue a career in art and design. Special thanks to Jo-Nell Sieren and Sarah Faust for your mentorship, feedback, and encouragement throughout my time at Columbia. You have helped me grow so much in confidence both as a designer and as a person!
What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to continue working at my internship at Octane Rich Media in Chicago and freelancing.
Do you have any advice for current students?
Find a faculty mentor and surround yourself with friends who can encourage you toward your goals. Also, don’t take your work so seriously that you forget to have fun!
